6 Health Conditions Magic Mushrooms Show Potential To Help With

Magic mushrooms comprise hallucinogenic compounds [psilocybin] with strange properties. Magic mushrooms [Psilocybe Cubensis] don’t look magical at first glance. However, psilocybin activates the serotonin receptors. It is that part of your brain, which impacts cognition, perception, and mood. Hallucinogens even work on the brain’s other regions responsible for stimulation and panic responses.

Magic mushrooms on Telegram channel help you find the latest research associated with psychedelic-assisted therapy. Research is being carried out around the world and scientists find that magic mushrooms have the potential to treat many conditions.

Magic mushroom shows potential to treat….

1. Depression

For psilocybin therapy, depression is most researched. Last year, a report was published in Healthline that FDA gave psilocybin therapy a ‘breakthrough therapy designation for treating depression. Currently, the psychedelic research center – Usona Institute is in its phase III trial.

2. Treat addiction [smoking & substance abuse]

A small study was performed by researchers at Johns Hopkins University that focused on how psilocybin therapy could help smokers stay away from smoking. The study found that it had helped participants abstain from smoking for more than 12 months [follow-up]. The professor that led the study believed that psilocybin has the potential to treat substance abuse including cocaine and alcohol addiction.

Generally, substance use disorders are mental and behavioral range, so with well-orchestrated psilocybin sessions, the patient can be shaken away from their routine and given a glimpse of the large picture encouraging enough to avert these habits.

There have been small studies associated with heavy drinking of alcohol and cocaine addiction, where psilocybin therapy proved to be effective.

3. Cancer-related psychological disorders

Facing the diagnosis of advanced cancer stage is overwhelming. A small study focused on psilocybin therapy for anxiety in patients with cancer showed substantial improvement in life quality with a single dose. The anxiety and depression levels decreased in people with fatal cancer diagnoses.

4. Increase in openness

Researchers found a significant increase in openness after high-dose psilocybin therapy. In psychology, openness is a term used for defining someone’s approach towards new experiences like imagination and creativity. The openness in 60% of participants stayed significantly higher than the baseline for 12+ months after the psilocybin session.

5. Relief from cluster headaches

In a study, it was revealed that people who used microdosing of psilocybin found relief from cluster headaches without any concerns about the magic mushrooms’ psychoactive effect.

Growing magic shrooms is a great project but ensure to gain proper guidance to get a high-quality harvest.

6. Cope with PTSD

Post-traumatic stress disorder obstructs the victim’s ability to function. The psychedelic & consciousness research center at John Hopkins is conducting a study on how psilocybin therapy can help PTSD patients. Therapy, antipsychotics, and antidepressants help multiple patients. However, there are times when antidepressants don’t work when the severity of PTSD is high or chronic.

In an animal study, it was found that a single psilocybin session brought relief from distress quickly. The study supported the theory that psilocybin can break the traumatic cycle, that PTSD patients experience.

There is still plenty of research needed to conclude the health benefits of mushrooms. However, the potential for treating anxiety, depression, fear, and addiction is promising.
